rescuers tried to get to them, but because they couldn't see through the water in the passage they decided to wait 24 hrs before trying again. the guy that was alive and in the cave was also affected by carbon dioxide poisoning (hallucinating) so at first he tried to attack the rescuers and did not co operate. the rescuers left, got a friend of the guy to persuade him into leaving the cave and eventually he was saved.
