the reason is simple... Satan made the mistake of rebellion against God and can never return no matter what...but we as creations in God's image can rebel and yet repent and turn from our wicked ways and can be redeemed and given the keys to heaven's gates...so satan will try to bring as many of us with him to hurt God's heart..

The devil doesn't punish people in Hell, according to Christianity, he's one of the ones being punished.. Hell isn't Satan's kingdom where God sends people for Satan to torture, that's mostly the pop culture version.. The more interesting question is why an all loving and just God would allow eternal punishment at all..? and that's a much harder question for Christianity to answer...

On top of that the concept of hell was mostly a new testament only thing. In the old testament there is no Hell but there was Shoel which is essentially the underworld where all souls both good and bad went.

Earth is hell. We live in a constant hell till we find it within ourself to walk as Jesus. We all have the ability to a god/godess mentality. But you have to respect everything around you & people won’t because everyone is so divided. humans are selfish.
