@jonathon_eades: The internet works. The server responds to ping. Other employees can access the shared drive. The user can even reach \\FILESERVER — but the Accounting folder says Access Denied. At this point, it probably isn’t a connectivity problem. It’s time to check permissions. Verify the user’s Active Directory group membership, then check both the share and NTFS permissions. If they were recently added to the correct security group, have them sign out and back in so Windows can generate a new access token. Troubleshooting gets much easier when you follow the evidence instead of guessing. Want more real IT scenarios like this? ExamWizardz.app #IT #HelpDesk #Networking #techtok #CompTIA
Well they have a path it’s now permissions issue first , send ticket to security team to verify wait for them to send it back not granting permissions , send back to them and have user on phone at same time only for them to say to assign ticket to them, and repeat eventually get solved when it reaches security team manager

Confirm gpo, clear cached credentials, gpupdate, if remote see if there is a different vpn profile to connect to (unless there’s one profile for entire company), if they are in office and on wifi have them connect to LAN to see if that gets them in to shared drive.

You check the connection to the server, then you can check the security groups from the users where the access is working or any other permissions.
