🐟 A fish bone stuck in the throat may seem minor, but it can sometimes cause serious problems. When it becomes lodged, it may cause pain when swallowing, a foreign-body sensation, irritation, coughing, or small injuries to the throat lining. In some cases, the bone can become embedded more deeply and lead to inflammation, bleeding, or infection. ⚠️ Seek urgent medical care if there is difficulty breathing, inability to swallow saliva, severe pain, bleeding, or fever. Trying to push the bone down with large bites of bread, rice, or other foods may make it lodge even deeper.
