I saw two teenage boys sitting together on the grass, sharing a meal. the way they sat, they way they laughed and the way the held themselves, that was the moment I realised what had been taken from me. Ive felt this way for many years now and as time goes on, I find it difficult not to become bitter, rather than relieved.

I can feel this when I start dancing in a public space. It’s like I have to establish that my dance won’t be too expressive or too sensual. It takes a few songs, and then I noticed that feeling goes away. But it always starts at the beginning.

We have been robbed of touch. Platonic cuddling, holding hands, kissing cheeks, hugging. Humans need touch, we even developed to release oxytocin when someone else touches our skin. It’s fascinating.
