Yet millions of dollars continue flowing into projects that measure activity instead of meaningful impact. How many screenings? How many referrals? How many people reached? Those numbers matter — but the better question is: Did we actually change the conditions that were pushing a veteran toward crisis? Funders, foundations, healthcare systems, government agencies — it’s time to rethink what we fund, what we measure, and where we intervene. Stop waiting for veterans to tell us they’re in crisis.
