@theirishgem: One of the most memorable Irish pubs I visited in New York 🇮🇪🇺🇸 O’Hara’s has a history you can feel the minute you walk through the door. #OHarasNYC #IrishInNewYork #NewYorkIrish #LowerManhattan #theirishgem
Though they did not reopen for months, they helped provide food for the first responders that were at ground zero. They could not be open for business, but they could be open for charity, and they helped a lot of those men and women get through the grueling months to follow the attacks.

Was my lunch spot for 5yrs when I worked on the rebuilding down there..every year I’d have a St Paddy day party and I would buy a bunch of shirts and raffle them off to our guests then give the money to charity

We left a badge there from the Port of Seattle Fire Department, have been there several times for the FDNY Memorial Stair Climbs, unfortunately they haven’t had them in the last few years. O’haras is a must.

I worked there in 1990 for a year.
Back then there was two bars on the first floor bar upstairs attached to a party room.
We used get FBI and secret service personnel, Traders and staff from the commodities exchange and Firemen.
Friday at around 4pm the place was jammed.

We stop by when we are in town, not just to honor the men and women that lost their lives but to always remember.
