At no time did Jesus say to just ignore sin and not care if people sin. Yes love is important and we are all sinners to god. But it important to try to be as close as possible to Jesus and follow his teachings

good point. I think some people when they do apply gods commandments or what they perceive as gods commandments or their interpretation of it, I am sure deep down they are trying to do the right thing. however that gets misplaced or lost and they end up hating the person for what they perceive as their sin, if that makes sense. Sadly also different churches interpret certain scriptures differently, contributing to their judgement

So what's the alternative to purity? We should just do what we want? I don't get it. Yes there is love and acceptance but sleeping around isn't Gods design. I'm sure most Christian couples wish they had waited until marriage.

I might be harsh, but bring back shame. Shame is biblical. It means you still care that you sin. True love is honesty and some of the best people who have loved me in life have been honest when I was in the wrong.

i think while purity culture has been conducted in very violent and demeaning ways, I think the pendulum has swung so far back that the culture that we perpetuated in today's society is actively leading to the collapse of the United States and is the same mindset that got our current president elected. You don't understand the amount of young girls (often minors) posting things that shouldn't be posted for the world to see and are only being supported by older women who are advocating for a world where that sort of thing is normalized and shouldn't be looked down on. that's just one example of the rot that comes from pushing away the idea of purity.
