I couldn’t include every single type of doll because there are SO many, so I had to make some choices. I left out things like Rag Dolls, Fashion Dolls, Baby Dolls and a bunch of other types just to keep the video from becoming ridiculously long. I also didn’t start with the very first dolls ever made, because with some of the really early human shaped figures, we don’t actually know for sure if they were toys, ritual objects, funerary objects, etc. And one more thing: some of these doll types existed before the decade I’m showing. I chose the period when they became more established recognizable or popular so this is definitely a simplified timeline, not a complete history of every doll ever made. Some of these styles also overlapped. Now I want to know: which doll is your favorite? 🧸 Which dolls did you grow up with or do you collect now? And if I left out your favorite, tell me about it! This was another rabbit hole I happily fell into. 🤍
