I know many people who say "I'm not racist, I have a black friend" or "I'm not homophobic, one of my family members is gay" He's always had similar ideology. He just used more words for it.

Another part that grinds my gears is that it's not DEI, it's DEIA. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility. Cutting out the A just removes people with disabilities from the conversation completely.
