FYI for anyone dealing with this, an abdominal binder or waist trainer for a few hours a day actually helps! Especially if you’re active while wearing it.

Got a tummy tuck in April, FDL with mons lift and muscle repair. I paid for it in cash but it should be covered by insurance.

And insurance will call fixing it “cosmetic” so you have to pay for it to be fixed out of pocket

If your inner labia tears horizontally, they don't stich it back together because that's considered cosmetic. So you just have to live with 1 full and 2 halves of a labia.

My cousin had this, and only can be fix by tummy tuck. She refused it bcos she just cant stay in bed for many days and she has a lot on her plate. Every time ppl mistaken her for pregnant again, that’s shit.

I have given birth to five souls. I absolutely have diastasis recti. However, to correct it, I have to turn to a plastic surgeon and it likely will not be covered by insurance. I am a generally slim woman, but my stomach looks like a hot mess. My abdominal muscles are spread to the side. If I got a six pack it would like like someone split a pack of Hawaiian rolls. I’ve paid out of pocket for pelvic floor therapy. But they said that without fixing this issue, I will continue to deteriorate. Thanks American Healthcare System! Enjoy the five workers I added to your machine!

And too many men criticize their wives for not bouncing back when there is literally no financial assistance or insurance to help with medical costs.

Hey so… every pregnant woman has ab separation (to make room). For many (myself included) it heals without issue. For some… yeah, lots of pelvic floor pt and sometimes surgery. But the separation happens to everyone to some extent.

From a woman who wants children, this might change my mind in wanting them... I don't think any women in my family had this issue, is it a hereditary issue? 😐

Happened to my cousin and it’s not covered by insurance if you want to get it fixed because it’s considered cosmetic/elective.

Yes and if you want surgery to fix it it’s considered COSMETIC!!!!!!!! Like … I can’t use my core so my back legs and everything hurts bc I’m using all my body to get myself up and I have no core ..
