@layers.official: Air Conditioning — Where the Dripping Water Actually Comes From On hot summer days, air conditioning drain hoses drip liters of water outside even when it hasn’t rained. That water isn’t a leak—it is moisture pulled directly out of your indoor air. Warm room air holds invisible water vapor. When the indoor unit pulls humid air across freezing evaporator coils, the rapid drop in temperature forces the air to shed its moisture as condensation. Because wall-mounted units don't have built-in pumps, they rely purely on gravity drainage. Installers deliberately tilt the indoor unit backward slightly toward the drain pan and slope the drainage hose downward the entire way out. If this continuous decline is disrupted for even a few centimeters, standing water backs up and spills onto your room floor. #AirConditioning #HowItWorks #HVAC #HomeAppliances #LAYERS
