As a fellow "woo-woo" atheist and witch I think the "magic" in my spiritual practice is that breaks me out of my depressive realism long enough to make choices that could improve my life. I have been through a lot and have a ton of negative biases that prevent me from taking agency, experiencing joy and connecting with others, so believing that I some control or foresight into the stochastic nature of the world through divination and ritual helps me make choices that benefit me with confidence.

I think astrology can augment readings, just as the enneagram or Kabbalah or a reasonable study of psychology. I understand very little of astrology, but I am absolutely confident in my Tarot readings.
