A man is in hospital after he allegedly set fire to a unit and jumped from a first floor window during an early morning siege in Sydney's east. Emergency services were called to an apartment block on Malabar Road in South Coogee at about 3.30am on Friday following reports of a concern for welfare for a possibly armed man barricaded inside a unit. Police located a 42-year-old man inside a unit allegedly threatening to set fire to the property.
