@melanielissackinteriors: This week's small DIY project: painting the ceiling in my son's bedroom this orange / red shade! This bright white ceiling felt so disjointed from the rest of the room decor. It's been pure brilliant white since we moved in 11 years ago, but as l've recently had some joinery put in the room that I need to paint, I thought I might as well try out painting the ceiling the same colour as the woodwork. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous about doing it. However, once I got started, I could see that it instantly made the room feel more cohesive and it also warms up the space. I was inclined to just do it because the bedroom ceiling is high and it gets a lot of natural light, so it wasn't concerned that it would feel oppressive or too dark with the new vibrant shade. I do quite like the fact it's a bit more dramatic! I'm going to paint his wardrobes in a different colour, so that should lift everything a bit and mix up palette. What do you think?
