@thesunnahguy: As I’ve got older, I’ve become much less interested in winning arguments with people I love. Because what exactly did you win if you proved your point but damaged the relationship? Not every disagreement deserves days of silence. Not every mistake deserves a grudge. And sometimes your ego will convince you that withholding forgiveness is somehow making you stronger. Until you’re standing at somebody’s grave wishing you could have one more conversation. One more opportunity to say: “I’m sorry.” “I forgive you.” “I love you.” None of us know which conversation will be our last. So speak gently. Forgive quickly. Apologise sincerely. Tell people you love them whilst they’re still here to hear it. And don’t allow something that won’t matter in five years to create a regret you could carry for the rest of your life. Because sometimes there is no “next time.”
