@sacha1yr0: #polignana a Mare italy #polignana 🇮🇹 #italytravel Polignano a Mare is a picturesque resort town in the Puglia region of southern Italy, famous for its dramatic white cliffs, turquoise sea, and houses that seem to hang right over the precipice. Lama Monachile Beach: The town’s signature landmark. This pebbly beach is tucked between two towering cliffs and features on countless postcards. Historic Center: A labyrinth of narrow cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses, and viewing terraces offering panoramic vistas of the Adriatic Sea. Handwritten poems can often be found inscribed on the walls of the houses here. Caves and Grottos: The coastline is indented with sea caves. The most famous is Grotta Palazzese, which houses a unique (and very expensive) restaurant. Boat tours exploring the grottos are also popular. Domenico Modugno Statue: The town is the birthplace of the artist behind the world-famous song "Volare" (*Nel blu dipinto di blu*); a statue in his honor stands on the seafront promenade.
