Lower-Leg Routine 🦶 Part 1️⃣ Front: Tibialis Anterior (Dorsiflexion) Many of you asked for a breakdown of my lower-leg routine, so here it is! Toe raises are one of the best ways to strengthen your tibialis anterior—the muscle along the front of your shin. A strong tibialis anterior can help: ✔️ Improve ankle stability ✔️ Support better walking and running mechanics ✔️ Absorb impact more efficiently ✔️ Reduce the risk of shin splints During walking, this muscle has two important jobs: 1️⃣ Lifts your foot (dorsiflexion) so you don’t trip. 2️⃣ Slowly lowers your foot after your heel strikes the ground to help absorb impact. Exercises & Progressions 1. Seated Toe Raises (Beginner-Friendly) Start seated and lift your toes toward your shins. Try one foot at a time to focus on slow, controlled movement. 2. Standing Toe Raises Perform with one leg or both. 💡 The farther your feet are from the wall, the harder it gets. 3. Heel Walks Walk on your heels while keeping your toes lifted. This strengthens the tibialis anterior while also challenging your balance. Hold onto a wall if needed. 4. Weighted or Band-Resisted Tib Raises Use a dumbbell, kettlebell, or resistance band to increase the challenge as you get stronger. Working 360° around your lower leg is one of the best ways to build resilient ankles and strong feet. 👣 Stay tuned for Part 2️⃣ Back: Calves & Soleus.
