i feel wicked also isn’t doing anything interesting with their casting either to help with the over saturation from the movie that makes people go oh it’s different, it’s just the same cookie cutter casts over and over again where it’s very little racial diversity, no bigger body types for any of the three leads, could easily add trans actors as well but instead it’s cis straight size actors with maybe one poc but only ever one for the leads and it’s nothing new to see it’s boring when we have wicked at home

If Wicked close, we are never getting a Broadway movie again— and depending on what Hadestown does, maybe even pro shots. Don’t get me wrong, I’m done with Wicked, but yeah I’m betting this is bad news for fly over town theater kids.

we have to think about how no one’s traveling to New York or buying Broadway tickets bc no one has the money. We can’t afford to live let alone see shows. People want to support the arts but don’t have the means. It’s heartbreaking.

Honest to god, if they let the girls sing the riffs and options they all do in their solo concerts, gay people would come back again in droves like it’s 2007. Jessica Vosk bootlegs were a bumper crop for that show. We’ve also never had a Former Witch return as Morrible. Ana Gasteyer has publicly said no, but what’s Julia Murney up to? I know Stephanie J. Block and Sebastian Arcelus are probably busy, but their casting got me to see Into the Woods. They’d make me come back to Wicked.

I think people forget that this show has run literal decades. It seems to have run its course, and that’s ok. A multi-decade run is a rarity for shows, and it would do amazing business in regional and community theatre.
