The main problem is the skill gap in using AI well and it's just gonna get bigger. The workers who can't use AI to help with their work get phased out, hitting a lot of families whose main provider hasn’t had the time to learn AI properly. The people replacing them will be genuinely more productive, and companies will reset their expectations to match. That new output stops being impressive and just becomes the baseline, the standard everyone gets measured against, including the people who were already struggling to keep up. This means if you didn’t learn the most optimal way to use AI, most likely from external factors like a family, then you will be expected to do the same amount of work as someone who does know in which you will have to work longer hours to keep up. I then think this will make a mental health epidemic in people who’s had families since 2022 mostly due to being overworked and threat of losing job.
