It would definitely work as long as you are talking relative light long not overly tall packages. Unless you add a tilted rack/bed. And suspension should auto compensate more (either air ride or hydropmneumatic auto leveling). High loads would block view to the left but you can fix that with some cameras easily. In the past we had some vans which allowed to remove half the divider and the passenger seat.. (think about an old style mail van)

Not a scientologist but obviously breaking and accelerating doesnt give as much G force as a turn at "high" speeds, with a heavy load this would tip over at 10mph 😅👎
