Ten years ago, when the pollster YouGov ran a survey on migration, they found that a third of voters believed that immigration had been “mostly bad” for Britain. This year they re-ran the same poll and found that figure has jumped to 43%. Despite the Brexit pledge of 2016 to “take back control” of Britain’s borders, the perception of many voters is that successive governments have done nothing of the sort.
