@drbeckycampbell: First, yes, I absolutely butchered the name “Binocular Vision Dysfunction” in this video 😂 Moving on… What if your headaches, dizziness, anxiety, or neck tension are actually being triggered by your EYES? 👀 Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD) happens when your eyes aren’t coordinating properly, forcing your brain and visual system to work harder to compensate. Symptoms can include: • Headaches or migraines • Dizziness or feeling off-balance • Motion sickness • Eye strain or fatigue • Blurry or double vision • Trouble focusing or reading • Losing your place while reading • Light sensitivity • Feeling overwhelmed in grocery stores or busy environments • Difficulty driving, especially at night • Neck and shoulder tension • Poor depth perception • Feeling disoriented or “off” • Anxiety or panic-like sensations in visually busy spaces For me, there’s another piece to this: I’ve had two concussions. My doctor believes this may be when my binocular vision issues started. Visual and eye-tracking problems can develop after a concussion, sometimes persisting long after the initial injury. There may also be a connection with hypermobility and hEDS. Binocular vision problems have been reported in people with connective tissue disorders, and hEDS can overlap with things like migraine, dysautonomia and cervical issues that may contribute to or amplify visual symptoms. The crazy part? You can have 20/20 vision and still have a problem with how your eyes work together. Depending on the specific dysfunction, treatment may include specialized vision therapy to retrain how the eyes and brain coordinate and/or prism lenses to help with certain alignment problems and reduce the workload on your visual system. If you’ve been chasing headaches, dizziness, motion sensitivity, neck tension, or that weird “my brain doesn’t like what my eyes are seeing” feeling, it may be worth having your binocular vision evaluated. #bvd #bvdtest #binocularvisionmatters #mcas #heds

Look into neurolens also. Find a practice that sells this particular lens. It’s designed to help with this issue. It’s got a contour prism so it’s not a true prism.

Me too! They vibrate, I see weird stuff in my peripheral, they twitch, I can’t tell shadows from light, it’s so weird! My eye doc swears I don’t have bvd. The test she did was so wack.

I had to use flip glasses as a kid. I would read with one set for a bit, flip them and read with the other side.

Yes! So sometimes when I focus my eyes I get really dizzy and feel like I’m gonna pass out and in grocery stores my eye sight blurs. I’ve always tilted my head when I walk but I thought it was neck tension. I also got Kaleidoscope vision before but was told it was a eye migraine. I also get very sleepy when I drive long distances. It helps to know it could be this.

I have hEDS, MCAS and BVD. I got my prism glasses about a year ago and they helped a lot! They haven’t resolved all my symptoms but I do have positive benefits from them. 100% recommend.

How did you find a doctor to test you? The desk staff always claims to me that they do but then they never know a thing when I go in.

Omg I have this exact problem and I’ve never heard anyone ever mention it. Thought I was crazy I would always tell those close to me that my eyes always felt weird and even more specifically I suddenly out of nowhere become intolerant to caffeine but it does this really weird thing where if I have some even a tiny amount I get this weird pressure feeling in my eyes immediately and that has been ever since I had this eye thing going on. I’ve always been afraid to tell doctors because I would sound crazy. I’ve tried to look stuff up about it online and never found anything.
