Wow, you are so right in what you are saying. I’ve been doing this for at least over about 40 years of my life. And I’ve seen the Gurd and the bad. As you get more experience, more knowledge. You start to realise yourself why you put yourself in such danger for such poor money for no reason but peanuts when no one’s gonna recognise you no one’s gonna put you on a pedestal. When you could do the same job but less dangerous and get more money I think we’re an industry where we’re not appreciated properly we’re in industry run by a corporal conversation which is run by the government as well to just taxes and take more money to make more pointless courses that don’t reality make the world world that we live in on the doors Door supervisors and bodyguards courses effectively do what we do on the Door we’re learning nothing what we’re learning is things that not practically you could do it’s just about the money just about taking whatever they can from us when you’re paying Free to £400 to do a reset of a course that you’ve only just done three years ago do not forget when you’ve been on the Door many years to know exactly. I don’t understand why we have to continue doing a refresher on the same thing. It’s about the money it’s not about anything out. And there as well as the bodyguard badge. That don’t have any connection with people when they look after celebrities in any way whatsoever it just a course for military bodyguarding people that are like MPs on things like that which are on a different level. It doesn’t make no sense on anything. And now they want to introduce bodyguards that they can’t work on doors so they make them by a badge separately for Door work isn’t that called money grabbing or what?

security can be a hard job i do it sia licensed and ive seen everything we are in constant danger facing roles where we are expected to know how to deal with every situation and potential take a knife to protect people but we get paid the same as normal workers just above minimum wage. the pay for risking life and limb should be alot higher

im 6ft 1 and big but its rare where iv had to use physical force whilst working on doors. you need communication skills to deescalate situations..

too many times I have seen whilst on the doors seen doorstaff do a better job than some cops. and don't start me on "get better training = better wages" 😅😅😅. security in this country has always been treated as a chappy job just used until you can move on. venue managers ..... some are good and some are bad 👎
