Ive seen a documentary where a guy from Ghana travels to Suriname to meet the maroons. The maroons were the runaway rebellious slaves who fought and built enclaves retaining their culture. He cried when he realised they could still communicate and understand each other. These same people still found in Jamaica and othet places blowing a engine and partly speaking West African dialects.
