I make my own version from our United States food chain restaurants Dennys. their Super Bird. which is basically Dmoked turkey provolone cheese tomato on sourdough bread toasted. I dip in Mayo. a club sandwich has both ham and turkey.

I put tomato in my grilled cheese all the time. It’s great! Just cut them a little thicker than usual and put on a paper towel to soak up some moisture before putting them in the sandwich.

U gotta salt them before hand and then soak the liquid off with kitchen roll before making the toastie

Lay cut tomatoes on paper towel for 5 min., flip and wait another 5min.. pat gently then make the sandwich. Or you can use sun dried tomatoes, chop up, wipe the oil off then make the sandwich. Balsamic glaze on or in grilled cheese sandwiches is good too.
