@growwithkaela: Your dismissive avoidant likely made you feel something that nobody else has. But once they deactivated the first time, you never consistently got that version of them back. The glimpses of potential are what you’re holding onto. The open loop with no explanation or closure has you feeling disoriented and ruminating more than you’d like. Accepting the reality that their capacity doesn’t allow for them to fully lean into what you had in the beginning is how you will close that loop. I know it hurts. Trust me I do. But the longer you wait for them, the more you’re losing yourself in the process. ❤️🩹
Why do they switch up? 2 days after I introduced him to my family 🥺

I was with mine for 6 years, discarded 5 times. I was broken and couldn’t do it anymore, I asked if she would consider therapy she said she didn’t have time, I walked away it’s been 2 years ghost mode. I went for therapy and healed! I will never allow myself to be treated that way again!

This is so true, after being married for 29 years then divorced I was able to move heal and move on. The 8 month situationship with a DA I can’t shake it, I can’t get her out of my daily thoughts, no matter the healing and work I do, the methods I try, and it’s like baggage trying to even consider a new relationship.

I showed her this like new cast iron pan I got last weekend while thrifting and told her about getting really into learning about cast iron pans, and she said, during her weekly check in, that the stereotype in her head was nerdy guys my age already knew a lot about cast iron. And it finally clicked that she doesn't know or care about a single thing about me, not really. Like, I knew it for awhile, but it finally clicked. Now I genuinely hope we never talk again. But I also can't block her because I'm still worried about her, lol, maybe I am a stereotype
