These are released in specific areas for now. If 100 investors buy 30 taxis each, that is 3000 cabs added and the ride price and frequency plummets. So, Tesla gets to sell 3000 cars and the investors end with a losing business with 30 cars setting in a parking lot.

I disagree! Two years ago this was a big deal with buying a fleet of Amazon delivery trucks. Investors soon realized they were barely breaking even at the end of the year. The overhead (and all that involves) is too large to be profitable!!!!

They are also getting into accidents, depreciating, and waiting for Tesla to charge you for software upgrades. Not to mention a simple new taxi model release will make what you bought nearly obsolete.
