Launch Control is calibrated around the DSG’s own shift strategy. It manages clutch engagement, torque and gear changes as one system. In manual mode, you add the risk of hitting the limiter or shifting slightly too early/late. Either costs acceleration. DSG automatic/Sport mode can preselect the next gear, producing extremely quick shifts with almost no interruption in drive. � Volkswagen Newsroom A hard launch already puts significant heat/load into the clutches and drivetrain. There’s little benefit in adding unnecessary manual intervention. Most importantly: manual mode doesn’t make the launch harder or faster — it mainly gives you more opportunities to mess up an otherwise perfectly managed launch. 😂 Launch Control = let the computer cook. Manual mode = save it for when you’re already moving and want involvement. 🔥🏁
