I hate shoplifters too. The last one I tried to stop almost pulled out his gun on me after I had knocked items out of his hand. I saw him reaching for his gun in his pants. I saw the gun. We both made eye contact. I shook my head no and he took off. I got lucky that day. I don't think I will be doing that again trying to stop a shoplifter. It is dangerous to do. It's companies fault they don't have better security. And we have a shitty society people are stealing just to survive.

The lady holding the camera deserves so much respect. She was looking out for everyone - calling for help, making sure the injured man stayed down, and reminding people not to confront the shoplifters and put themselves in danger. What really stood out to me was how her whole tone changed when she spoke to the injured man. She became calm, gentle and reassuring when he needed it most. That is compassion, awareness and leadership in a stressful situation. We could all learn something from her. ❤️
