Honestly there’s a couple things we engage with, I’d say this is a big one, but also high risk stops where they could pop out of the car or are already out of the car, and inside the home on a domestic would be the ones I’d want further training on for going wrong

Never stand directly in front of the window. Instead, stop between the front and back seats and lean forward to talk. That way, if the driver decides to pull a gun, they have to grab it and turn almost all the way around to shoot you, which buys you time. You also have the B-pillar, one of the thickest parts of a car to use as cover and concealment. If there are backseat passengers, walk past them to the front side-mirror while looking in at everyone; from the front, you still have the A-pillar to use as cover.
