@trevorcarroll_: Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. 💛 This conversation is deeply personal to me. I’m autistic, I’ve experienced suicidal thoughts, and I’m a suicide attempt survivor. I’m still here, and I’m so glad I stayed. Autistic people are at a significantly higher risk of suicide. A 2024 meta-analysis of 10 studies representing more than 10 million people found autistic people had 2.85x the risk of dying by suicide. Another study of late-diagnosed autistic adults found 66% had experienced suicidal thoughts and 35% had planned or attempted suicide. These are REAL PEOPLE And I’m one of them.
