In Nigeria, sometimes you see a serving minister speaking as though he is already a presidential candidate. If your priority is people-oriented development, then let us focus on the responsibility for which you were appointed and deliver on the mandate given to you. Let us move away from politics of bitterness and personal attacks. Instead, tell Nigerians what your preferred candidate plans to do differently if elected. What new ideas, policies, and solutions is he bringing to the table? Thank God he was able to pull a large crowd from the North, South, and East, including people from your own state. That should tell us that Nigerians are interested in his message. If you decide to contest, do you honestly believe you can win even one state? And even if you manage to win your own state, it would still be a very tough contest for you. Politics should be about ideas, performance, and what we can do to improve the lives of our people—not bitterness and personal attacks. Let’s focus on what each candidate has to offer Nigerians.
