This is the famous Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, Algarve. Highly recommend if you’re going to the Algarve coast in Portugal Route: Praia da Marinha to Praia do Vale de Centeanes (Lagoa, near Carvoeiro). Distance: 6 km one way or 12 km return. Allow 2–3 hours one way with photo stops. rocky and uneven in places but easy hike Short on time? You only need to hike from Praia da Marinha to Praia do Carvalho (3.5 km) for the best views, then turn back. Parking: Park at Praia da Marinha. It's the biggest car park but fills fast in summer, so arrive early. Get an Uber or Bolt back from your stopping point, or walk the return. Best time: Hike east to west in the morning so the sun is behind you for the best views and photos. Spring and autumn are cooler and quieter. Highlights: Marinha's arches, the Benagil Cave skylight from above, Praia do Carvalho's rock tunnel, Alfanzina Lighthouse and the giant sinkholes. To see inside Benagil Cave, book a boat trip from Benagil beach at the halfway point. Safety: There's almost no shade and the cliff edges are unfenced. Bring water, sunscreen and trainers with grip.
