Luffy is the purest form of liberation within all of fiction 😹😹 the 🥷🏾 litterally liberated himself ep 1 throughout this storyline of One Piece Luffy has liberated each character crew mates, friends,enemies etc from there own personal conflict within the one piece world that’s what it means to be a pirate through the perception of Luffy to be free, free to do anything you want that’s why when he goes to these islands dominated by the world government and pirates he feels the need to liberate them because that goes against his moral conduct. All of this sounds like a personal preference problem. And that's not to say One Piece doesn't have issues or that the anime specifically does not exacerbate many of the things in the manga that people might not like, but it seems like your complaints are based on One Piece not being what you expected from a beloved series.
