@actively.natalie: Our kids have a way of holding up a mirror to our hearts. The moments that trigger us, the fears we carry, the trauma, the limiting beliefs, the impatience that seems to come out of nowhere… so often those reactions have roots that go much deeper than the moment we’re in. God already sees every hidden wound, every lie we’ve believed, and every part of our story we’ve tried to bury. In His kindness, He doesn’t expose those places to shame us….He reveals them so He can heal them and give us freedom. Parenting has been one of the greatest invitations to let Jesus into the places my younger self still needed Him. Every time I choose curiosity over reaction, I pause and ask, “Jesus, why did that trigger me? What are You trying to show me?” Healing takes another step forward. Our children deserve parents who are willing to do their own heart work. Not because we’ll ever do it perfectly, but because healing has a way of ending patterns that pain tried to pass down. Maybe that’s one of God’s sweetest gifts in parenting. We think we’re shaping our children. All the while, God is using the journey of parenting to shape us🥹🤍
