@miraclek9training: Why Your Prong Collar Isn’t Working Most owners think that if their dog is wearing a prong collar, they’ll naturally stop pulling because they can feel the pressure. And honestly, it’s easy to understand why. But that’s not necessarily what happens. A dog can spend all day pulling against a prong and eventually become pretty accustomed to that pressure. Instead of learning from it, they can simply learn to ignore it or just become more frustrated and annoyed by it. That’s why the equipment itself isn’t the whole picture. Leash training still requires clear communication, and the dog needs to understand what the pressure is actually communicating. Most people are doing what seems logical based on how the equipment looks and feels. The important part is understanding that simply putting a prong collar on a pulling dog usually isn’t enough to change the behavior.
