What I have taken from watching all 3 parts of this. 1. you were absolutely groomed 2. 0% of this is your fault 3. you did the best you could in an impossible situation. 4. No one is allowed to judge you for your choices. they were not in your shoes. again thank you for sharing this. my daughter and I have watched this and have had a very open conversation about how to spot these types of behaviors in a partner and what to do if she feels she is in danger.

You were a literal child. Forgive yourself. It takes a lot of strength to leave after that long. I left my kids dad after 17 years and it was the hardest scariest thing I’ve ever done.

im in a similar situation & im very scared. we’re not married and we’ve been together for 3 years, he has a severe p addiction but neither of us can afford therapy for him. we’ve tried a bunch of options but they aren’t working. i love him very much and i do not want to leave but ive lost all my self confidence. he tells me he can get better but we dont have options where he could possibly get better. after hearing your ex couldn’t get over it after rehab makes me even more worried. any suggestions? im so stuck :(

Girl I did this for like 6 months and ended up in a mental health hospital stay for a week 😭 I was going insane with this dude I’ve never hated someone more and my dad rpd me and I hate my ex more than my dad 😭 that says so much I’m sorry u went through that girl you are absolutely beautiful and strong and I’m so happy you are not in this situation anymore

I went through something very similar, he was my whole life, together for 7 years. I also felt guilt for leaving him for these issues. I have a much better life now with so many wonderful friends and a wonderful boyfriend. Your life will get SOOO much better. Just takes time.
