hey man, i know you like toyota and they send you cars to test, but you’re still new to this, if you wanna become a true car reviewer that’s taken seriously in the industry i’d suggest you’d report the news and only give unbiased opinions cause you won’t go far if you let your loyalty to one brand affect your thoughts on the others. as for the passport, it’s capable of doing the VAST majority of the things this segment’s customers actually use those “off road” vehicles for.

but isn’t that what most suv owners do - larp being off roaders. i’d say that honda has made a vehicle that hits all the marks of a typical suv buyer but people just don’t wanna buy a honda.

So the current Passport is Amazing off road. As good as most in most conditions. The ONLY real issue for some was the ground clearance. So Honda engineers did not just lift the vehicle up higher, but re-engineered most of the suspension for better ground clearance. Not meant to be trailered to an off road park. It is meant to be driven every day comfortably and also have the capability to go to the off road parks.

The Jeep XJ Cherokee is a unibody and that didn’t stop people from doing insane off roading in them. I will gladly admit a body on frame is stronger.

It is definitely not LARPing. It was already very capable off road and the increased ground clearance upgrades one of its main issues. The new Honda AWD system it uses is pretty sophisticated and allows it to do a lot more than you might expect. There are some great deep dives on YT

The Passport’s unibody design is much more comfortable compared to body-on-frame. Body-on-frame rides like a truck. After a long-haul drive, your back is gonna be hurting lol.
