@crimewithpinkypie: 🚨 MAJOR UPDATE IN THE SIDERS FAMILY CASE There has been a significant development involving Gary Siders Sr., 73, one of the defendants charged in the disturbing Vinton County, Ohio child-endangerment case. A judge has found Gary Siders Sr. mentally incompetent to stand trial after reviewing a competency evaluation. Even more significant, his condition was reportedly determined to be “not restorable,” meaning evaluators do not believe he will regain the ability necessary to understand the proceedings and properly participate in his own defense. His attorney told the court that Siders Sr.’s cognitive abilities are in irreversible decline, and prosecutors did not object to the competency finding. Siders Sr., who appeared in court in a wheelchair, is facing 16 counts of child endangerment stemming from the investigation into the conditions in which his grandchildren were allegedly living at the family’s Hamden, Ohio property. ⚠️ This does NOT mean he has been found not guilty. A competency ruling deals with whether a defendant is mentally capable of understanding the court proceedings and assisting in their defense — not whether they committed the alleged crimes.
