@donlemon: I need to talk to you about something that just happened, because almost nobody is covering it the way they should. A crypto company partly owned by the President's family just got conditional approval to start operating like a bank. Sit with that for a second. The same family shaping crypto policy in this country is now getting into the banking business, while that policy is still moving through Congress. It is called the CLARITY Act. And here is the problem. As written, it does nothing to stop elected officials and their families from cashing in on the very industry they are regulating. And the basic protections your bank has to follow, the ones that catch scammers and money launderers, they are not being applied to crypto. So I have to ask. Who is writing these rules, and who gets to profit from them? This is not about being for crypto or against it. It is about whether the people in power have to play by the same rules as the rest of us. If that bothers you the way it bothers me, tell your senators to vote no on the CLARITY Act unless it comes with real ethics rules and real protections. Tag them below. The link is in my story.
