oh its crusty :
grass truly is pointless.. this is where we started when we lived in the city on less than 1/10th of an acre. we sold that house and just got our modular delivered to our new 15 acre property.. cuz, ya know.. chicken math

We bought 7 acres and building a house on it next year. That being said, we currently live in a HOA where we can’t have any animals except inside animals. I absolutely can not wait to get out of this HOA. But I have had gardens and have loved that. Can’t wait to move and get settled in and do mini gardens everywhere around my property. And not have to worry about keeping my grass green

I live on a piece of property that is less than 9000 ft.². We have chickens five huge garden beds and we make it work. You do not need to have a lot of land to Homestead.

Astounded that all this homesteading content has been done on a half acre

When you have limited space to become self sustaining, grass is pointless. If you have space to also have grass, I can tell you my kids (boys) use it to play sports everyday. We also live 10

We have lots of room (30acres) and views without neighbors etc... but very little of it is truly usable (like 5 acres not including buildings/homes)😅 remember folks, size doesn't equal useful!

I have 2.85 acres. I love it because my next door neighbor has 26 acres that go behind my house. she lets us use it for whatever. it's all woods and a creek. ideally I'd love to have a similar setup where I own all of the 26 acres too. not to use it for anything, really. Just to make sure I don't have neighbors. 🤣🤣

Beach Dreamin🏝️🍹🆘🇺🇸💙 :
Dream would be 5-10 acres with a pond. Some of the acres would be wooded.

If money was no option, I’d probably have 10-15 acres with a 1+ acre pond. The house could be tiny, but I want the garden to be huge! I want one garden for me and my hubby and another garden to supplement my animals’ feed. I want chickens, guineas, ducks, goats, and sheep—besides the obvious dogs and cats. I want my own saw mill, hay fields, and food forest. 😍

I bought two and a half acres with a move in ready house. There's also a little cabin with electricity but no plumbing on the property. I paid under a 100 Grand for it. Granted that was in 2017... and my property taxes are under nine hundred dollars a year.

I would like 5 to 10 acres cuz I have a horse I would like at home. I love beef and want to have my own milk. I'm learning what I can do I can make informed decisions. I have chickens now and doing research. I do have just over an acre with flying predators lol.

Where do you live in GA? I'm a REALTOR and have a true 4+ acre homestead listed in Carroll County. We could be neighbors!
