Or there was a language barrior, as Moses spoke mostly the language of Pharoah and not of the Israelites. So possibly he was still learning and was not too good, hence the need for Aaron to translate. Notice he spoke to Pharoah directly not Aaron. In retrospect, Moses was the only person that God could have used, because only someone that can speak the language and knew the culture of Pharoah and still have connection to the Isrealites could have been selected. Aaron would not have been knowlegable enough, nor had any links to even go near Pharoah's building.
