Hi, chemist here. Although it's out of my scope, the changing of climate is well understood. However, we've also recognized over the past decade that human input is probably unlikely. Any fear mongering that you are hearing is just subject to the type of news you're watching. I would suggest switching new sources.

I’m in LA and the humidity and heat is crazy right now because of El Niño. But no one will acknowledge that it is El Niño. They want to blame the “climate crisis” but know they can’t so everyone is oddly quiet.

I saw a thing that said "worst el nino in human history!" But their date range was since 1880. I thought why stop at 1880? Turns out in 1877-1878 there was an El Nino that was about twice as strong and several degrees hotter than the one we are experiencing now. In fact that year it caused a famine that killed around 50 million and was called the "year without a winter". Guess they were driving even more cars and burning more fossil fuels back then. 😂

I've been surviving "the end of times" due to the weather and other natural disasters and "the worse president (politicians) ever who are destroying the USA" for 70 years. As my dad always told me, relax and enjoy life, when you get old it will all make sense.

those of us from the '70s who've been hearing about ice ages and ozone layers since we were children.... we gave up our aquanet, we started recycling, we authorized billions to be spent--but you're telling me the problem isn't fixed yet?

August 2026 was the warmest month ever. The CO2 levels are the highest in 11000 years. Warming means the atmosphere will hold more moisture which means floods but slso droughts. The largest reservoirs in the US are at there lowest levels since the were established.
