Logan :
as a ups driver i have an answer and a solution, we are on our feet all day, concrete, metal floors, sometimes the grass is just so soft and feels great. sometimes a simple sign stating to stay off your lawn is enough. calling us lazy is diabolical considering you cant get to the store.

Yup! :
The average driver has 250 stops per day in a truck with no air conditioning. If you don't want your crap delivered to your door, go pick it up yourself

As a UPS driver all I would ask is would you please talk to me about the situation. I would appreciate a quick talk. Then I would say sure I will stay off your grass. Kindness goes both ways

As a driver for 33 years with UPS, I walk 16k+ steps per day, if I can shave off 5 or 10 steps per house by cutting through the grass AND safely deliver the pkg to the front door, that’s a win/win in my eyes

If you want something delivered to your house, you are inviting them onto your property. If you don’t want them on your property, then don’t have stuff delivered

A Day With FITZGERALD :
As a 28+ year driver I walk ten miles or a day not trying to be disrespectful but walking taking the path with the least steps helps. So please give brown some grace. Everyone in the world doesn’t do everything right some where everyone misses something that we could have done better. People don’t understand the things that we have to do on the roads to make sure that they receive their shipments. So please give grace. Hope that this helps your question.

Cause we’re tired and over worked. Plus the grass is softer and yes every soft step counts and our bodies know the difference and we feel it

If that hurts your grass then you’re doing it wrong.

UPS driver here and I don't care who walks on my grass, and I put in hours of work for my yard to look the nicest in the neighborhood. Let's just be honest his few seconds to walk across is less harmful then you walking all over it to mow it, and to fertilize it. If you have family gatherings do you tell everyone not to step foot on your grass?

UPS drivers are the best. I've dealt with them in different states for 40 years and they are always professional. FedEx is terrible ever since Tom Hanks got stranded

It’s grass get a grip, I could see if it was raining but I am sure they take the shortest route to the porch because it is quick and efficient. They most likely stop 150 times a day or more. Have some compassion

We are told to take the shortest way from truck to door. But if you have a yard sign that said keep off grass I would respect that and use the driveway

It’s one thing if they drive on it but walking I don’t see the problem.

Just heard the Masters Golf Tournament has been canceled indefinitely because players, caddies, scorers, officials, a d sometimes even fans have been caught walking on the grass.

Just for context, the grass is a bit softer on the knees, most of us are going to have a knee replacement, rotator cuff or back surgery a bit earlier in life from this job. If I see a sign or a super nicely striped yard or if someone asks me not to I won’t, but after 12 hours every day you definitely notice the difference between grass and concrete.
