No… no you don’t. If the rotor isn’t damaged from going too long on brake pads, or warped, let it ride. I wouldn’t trust a shop that says they should be replaced every time.

This is bullish!!! I just replace pads ! Unless my rotors have been dammaged heavly by a completely worn brake pad all you need to do is replace the pad.

I have NEVER had a problem using the same rotors! Nor has a shop ever told me this. This sounds exactly like an ad to sell rotors through his employer....

man the times I have slapped pads on rotors that have grooves or were metal on metal and it work absolutely fine is crazy. is it smart not but when your broke you do what you got to do and honestly never had anything weird happen

over 20 years I never replaced pads with rotors every time ill go through 2 or 3 set of pads before rotors go with absolutely no issues

Wrong... you can still get your rotors turned IF they're in spec. if they are warped or hot spotted then yes replace the rotors.
