I've had the same GP for 30 years. She's caught so many little things in my annual checks, screenings, and bloodwork over the years. Much healthier later in life because my doctor nipped things in the bud.

To some extent she is correct in that the medical system is set up to treat illness and not to prevent it. A big push in the public health field is to focus on preventative health throughout people's lives to avoid getting the chronic illnesses rather than just treating them after they have them. It's not that the medical field wants you to be sick for repeat business, it's that the system as a whole is set up to be reactive rather than preventative. Part of the problem is insurance companies and another big part is MBAs running hospital systems. We need a major overhaul, but the friction to make the change is enormous.

Doctors are out to give out pills . Majority end getting healed by turning to natural remedies or naturapaths. Where i live we have universal healthcare and people are just as sick.
