No you cut the old flange out and make wood shims and install a new flange at the proper level. Don’t downsize your 3 inch drain that’s a permanent fix

Unfortunately when the drain line backs up with a plug it leaks through the flanges and causes a mess. Wax atleast will seal up the back up

Wax rings dont shift, toilets do. If they aren't installed right. You can stack 5 wax rings and they will work fine as long as the toilet doesn't move..Instead of selling gimmicks, lets train properly
