@alangradei: Cameron and I stopped at Al’s Hot Dogs in Long Grove, and walking through the door felt like stepping right back into the 1950s. The music, the décor, the whole atmosphere — it really does feel like an old-school diner. They’re all about Chicago classics, so we had plenty to try: their signature smashburger, an Italian beef, the crispy fried chicken sandwich, and fries with their homemade cheese sauce. Then somehow we got talked into chocolate cake, butterscotch pudding, and a couple of shakes. And that piece of chocolate cake? It was bigger than my head! 😂 But the atmosphere is only part of the experience. The real question is… how did we like the food? That’s what this review is all about.
