fun fact actually not so fun fact the firefighters had to fake rescues for the dogs because the dogs would only find dead bodies and they were getting depressed

Not so fun fact: one of the dogs named Charlie had a nail going through it entire paw with the end of it sticking out and still managed to find the three whole bodies but died later on from an infection in the paw

I can’t think about Roselle leading her blind owner and 30 people down 1400 steps to safety amidst the chaos and terror without getting choked up. 25 years later it still destroys me and fills my heart with hope and love.

My mom and grandma went 3 days after 9/11 to help the rescue crew by handing out waters, and helping in any way they could. They had to bring booties for the dogs because the rubble was still so hot for their little paws.

I’m crying 😢. And all the poor dogs were probably so scared. And just imagine all the pups waiting for their owner to get home after they died 😭

the dogs were getting depressed cause they couldn't find any survivors. responders had to lay down and cover themselves up to be found so the dogs could cheer back up
